Marina Ranga

Dr. Marina Ranga works with the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre in Seville, Spain and is Associate Professor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the University of Warsaw, Poland. Prior to that, she held academic positions at Stanford University, as Senior Researcher at H-STAR Institute and Faculty Research Fellow at Clayman Institute for Gender Research (2009-2015). Dr. Ranga also held academic positions in Europe, at Newcastle University Business School and Groningen University (2005-2009), University of Warsaw and Sussex University (2009-2011). Her main areas of expertise include: National and regional innovation ecosystems; Regional innovation and smart specialisation; The Entrepreneurial University and University-Industry cooperation, Technology transfer and research commercialization; Gender in innovation, technology and entrepreneurship. In these areas, she developed an extensive research portfolio and publication record, including over 60 book chapters, articles in top-tier journals, research and consultancy reports. Dr. Ranga conducted extensive consultancy and advisory work on innovation and technology for the European Commission, UN, national and regional government innovation agencies. She is a member of the International Advisory Board of the Accreditation Council for Entrepreneurial and Engaged Universities and of the Scientific Board of the University-Industry Innovation Network UIIN. She chaired the European Commission’s Advisory Group on H2020 “Spreading Excellence and Widening Participation” and is a member of the UN-ECE Team of Experts on Innovation and Competitiveness Policy since 2007.


Ignacio Ruiz Guerra

Dr. Ignacio Ruiz Guerra is a Doctor in Economics by the University of Granada, Spain. He is Specialist in Cultural and Interior Tourism from UCLM, Spain. About their professional activity, he is Master Coordinator in Planning and Management of Tourist Destinations at the Faculty of Commerce and Tourism of Complutense University of Madrid. He is Managing Director CIEES Foundation for the management and study of Specificity and Head of Studies, Analysis and Prospective of the Caja Rural Castilla-La Mancha Savings and Credit Cooperative Foundation. He is also linked to the Halcón Viajes S. A. Commercial for Groups, Incentives and Congresses in the province of Toledo.
He is Postgraduate Professor in Colombia, Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, Bogotá (Colombia); Guest Postgraduate Professor at Universidad del Caribe in Quintana Róo, Mexico; Complutense Latin American School Professor in Santa Cruz de la Sierra (Bolivia); Speaker and lecturer at universities in Portugal, Costa Rica, Mexico, Colombia; and Associate Professor International University of La Rioja (UNIR) Spain.
Dr. Ignacio Ruiz Guerra is member of the CAIDEVECI research group in Mexico; Member of the ASACE research group on the impact of the cruise industry on the socioeconomic development of the territories.
He has experience in the management and transfer of university-business knowledge related to Corporate Social Responsibility, and he is creator of labor inclusion programs for people from groups at risk of exclusion (women, youth, disabled) in companies and public institutions through public-private financing programs.
He is author of professional reports on the agri-food industry, social economy and cooperativism for territorial development. He has participated in more than 60 national and international congresses on topics related to Tourism, the Social Economy, the Third Sector, Foundations, Social Entrepreneurship, Local Development.
